A Look Back at the Season

This was my first year attempting to cover the WCHA and CCHA, and there were certainly some memorable moments. Here's a look back at some of my favorite posts of the season.

March

I wrote a ridiculous amount of stuff in March, and there was defiitely some good stuff, since the NCAA tournament was going on.

If this year is going to be remembered for anything, it will definitely be Holy Cross defeating Minnesota.

Thanks to a great effort by the Mankato East boy's high school hockey team, I decided to make my first trip to the Minnesota High School Hockey Tournament. I can't wait to go back next year.

February

I tried to create my own Miracle on Ice.

The battle for hockey supremacy in Eau Claire, Wisconsin was almost fought in boardrooms and stands instead of on the ice.

More proof of why I'll never for INCH. I tried to come up with college hockey's greatest novels. Sadly my brother was the only one to get the last reference.

January

I become the first person to attempt to give star ratings to recruits. I think it went pretty well given the near impossibility of the task. I'll probably update that over the summer.

My attempt for a a new North Dakota nickname never really caught on. Oh well.

I grew frustrated with people's constant attempts to find pictures of player's girlfriends on my site. Since then, I've just learned to live with it. I still want to know why Mike Komisarek's girlfriend is so popular.

December

Fairbanks not hosting a game in the CCHA playoffs this season meant 87% less giant inflatable bear-related fun this postseason.

We also had our revolutionary(well, I guess except for all those football bloggers that do the same thing) First Roundtable Discussion. Expect Roundtable Discussion #2 to commence as soon as I get around to emailing everyone.

I still say I'd take this team and beat any team you could come up with.

November

Busted!

If only Jeff Frazee would have listened.

October

I guess I get credit for predicting Michigan's demise this season, and boy let me tell you, does it ever make me feel better about the whole thing.

Speaking of painful memories, yes, I did throw my highlighter across the room, breaking it, after reading that article about Kevin Shattenkirk, and I stand by that decision.

My finest journalistic moment.

That about covers the season. It was a fun season, and hopefully next year the coverage will be even better.

Good "season" Chris. As a Gopher fan I could have done with less Blarney's, but then again all players should be held to the same level of accountability -- just wish it hadn't been my team.

For those times that WCH seems like a thankless job, I wanted to say I think you do a great job to keep the fun in college hockey. Thanks for entertaining us and keep it up. To other veiwers -- NO, I AM NOT A BLOOD RELATIVE OR FRIEND OF MAIZE.

Good job Chris!

It should be obvious that you are not a blood relative or friend of Maize...he would never fraternize with a Gopher fan. ;):p
