The Governor's Cup

Alaska-Anchorage will host rival Alaska on Friday in the first two games of a four-game series for the coveted Governor's Cup.

In honor of the series, I dug up on old post about why this is the best rivalry in college hockey.

I would say the Minnesota - North Dakota games have become bigger rivalry games in hockey, but only hockey. There is more passion between Sioux/Gopher games than between Badger/Gopher games and it isn't even close. Wisco in the rest of the sports, but for the UM in hockey it has become the Fighting Sioux (great name too!).
I am a fan of neither team, so this is one guy's unbiased opinion.

I can't comment on UAA/UAF since I do not live there, but it sounds good.
