There seems to be a little bit of confusion on the Central Scouting list. Miami recruits Curtis McKenzie and Cody Murphy are listed as committed to Lake Superior. So far as I can tell, it's a simple misprint. Both of their respective league websites still list them as committed to Miami.

Another clarification on the Michigan State suspensions. It sounds like one player will sit out the Friday game, and then one player will sit out the Saturday game. No names have been released yet.

The USHL Hockey Blog has a nice write-up on the best uncommitted players in the USHL.

If any BU fans are interested in some Ethan Werek-relate schadenfreude, Kingston still really sucks. I mostly linked to this just because of the 'five bees for a quarter' reference at the end.

After a poor reaction in Philadelphia, Sarah Palin will try her luck again by dropping the ceremonial first puck at a Blues game. For those keeping score at home: 2 ceremonial puck droppings, 0 press conferences.

Former St. Cloud forward Andreas Nodl played in his first NHL game tonight. Here's a sentence I never thought I'd read: "Flyers coach John Stevens likes that Nodl is defensively sound..." Obviously 'defensively sound' is a relative term for the Flyers. They lost 7-6 to the Sharks tonight.

Nate Hagemo signed a contract with the Elmira Jackals.

Yesterday Wisconsin lost the recruiting battle for St. Thomas Academy forward Christian Isackson, and today they lost the recruiting battle for forward Max Gardiner to Minnesota as well.

Another Sibling who chose not to go to Wisconsin. Reilly Smith, now Max Gardiner.

Top NTDP selections have watched what has happened with the players who have gone there. The lawlessness of the program is a negative. Hagamo problems, Carmen's academic struggles once in college. Take note some kids need supervision and guidance and these "hockey guys" raising their kids wasn't a real option.

The Blues should reconsider their invitation to Caribou Barbie. The Flyers have yet to win a game this season, but they did manage a shoot-out loss last night.

Though I will agree that Palin isnt big on pressers, it should be noted that Biden hasn't taken questions since September, when he said Clinton would have been a better pick for VP.

Great news for Hagemo. He'll be playing for former Minnetonka Skipper and St. Cloud Huskie Steve Martinson. Too bad St. Cloud doesn't have anyone as tough as Marty. They could use a guy like him.

Wisconsin still trying to get their first sibling to commit. Rumor is they think they will get younger Schmaltz. He is a '95 in six or seventh grade but it is said he has interest from Sioux and Irish so look for Badgers to jump on this one quick.

NHL looking at making a rule where shots can't be blocked by leaving feet but must have one foot/blade on ice at all times. Can't imagine how many shots UW's Connelly would have seen last weekend if that rule was in college hockey. Saw 25 in first with many blocks which would be illegal under rule!!!!

U R 1 of the best hockey BLOG's going BUT U shud research yur politics better (or ignore the drive by media)

3 candidates have NOT given a press conference since Sept

Guess which candidate has met with the press almost every day in the past 3-4 weeks (example, recently "she" ducked her entourage and met with a local TV station news person in Colorado)

3 candidates are millionaires & don't have to reveal thr clothes cost

guess which 1 is not a millionaire (in case U decide to go after "her" clothes cost)

I assume U know thr is only 1 "she" of the 4 candidates......

Joe Sixpack, Alaska (of course)

I was at the Blues game, as I have season tickets, and the crowd of around 20,000 was all on their feet cheering when she was introduced and did the puck drop. Also of note, I thought it was pretty cool to see her and her daughter clapping when some of the old WCHA guys started getting in some pretty good NHL Fights and scraps.(Greene, Backes, Wagner, Oshie etc.) Also I give Palin way more credit for going to sporting events, when was the last time a VP Candidate or a Presidential Candidate ever set foot in a hockey arena to watch the entire game? I think its good for the sport, helps put it in the National Spotlight, something it has lagged since the lockout..
