LoVecchio Signs with B's

I didn't remember seeing this anywhere last week, but Western Michigan junior forward Jeff LoVecchio has left school early to sign with the Boston Bruins.

LoVecchio was the Broncos third leading scorer this year with 9 goals and 12 assists.

i'm surprised you haven't mentioned that undrafted free agent jesse winchester (colgate university) recently signed with the ottawa senators! and the buffalo sabres have signed some free agents too...

LoVecchio was at the Caps rookie camp this past summer and did not impress at all. I have to wonder if he is flunking out of school or something, because this decision makes little sense from a career standpoint. He doesn't have an NHL future, and he's passing up both a free education, but a chance to be the captain of a college team.

Either that, or he is so fed up with Jim Culhane that he's ready to just be done with Western all together.

Sabres signed Whitmore from Bowling Green.
