Well, Lee can say goodbye to his offensive skills, but at least he'll be a good defensive forward. :D

Typical Gopher fans. The Goofs have scored an eye popping 8 goals in their last 6 games while Lucia was playing the "trap" against UND and UW.

oh my, did I just read the rodents play a "defensive style" and are a "trapping team"? Why would any skilled forward want to go play in that type of a "system"? Maybe Woog'er can draw up a diagram for us all on the rematch in Miinneapolis to show us exactly what a trap is?

How many recruits can Wisconsin possibly sign? Is this about 20?

Wisc. hasn't signed any!!! They don't have the scholarship money to sign players. Some will have to wait beyond when they were told they were coming in and others they may just tell they haven't developed like they projected.

Nahhh....I think you got Wisconsin mixed up with North Dakota. Who was the kid UND pulled the scholarship from....oh yeah Luke Beaverson. What kid has Wisconsin reneged on their verbal commit for? Oh yeah, that right...NO ONE EVER.

wcharules: let me guess; your a senior in high school; you just cut your self doing your weekly shave, and Miami just sent you a letter saying "sorry, you're too stupid to enroll here"; who won ncaa tourney last year ? do they play in wcha ? try a juco; they take anyone

Spokane(WHL) tried really hard to sign Lee last year.

How UW got Lee to wait for 2009 is pretty amazing. This guy was already one of the top ten recruits for 2008 and every major hockey power recruited him for 2008, except I guess Wisconsin. He now will probably will be the top overrall recruit for 2009.

Siouxper you're a typical siouxage fan trying to blame Gopher fans for one anonymous truthful post about Becky's defensive style of play. Just like your team of goons blamed all their cheap shots on which ever team they're playing. Let me guess Bucky said something to Finley before Joe the Goon slashed him. Nice impulse control, maybe soon he will have more discipline than a typical kindergarten student. He fits right in with your asshat coach.

Yes, Joe Pavelski and Robbie Earl lost all their offensive skill.

Unless you have seen the UW books how do you know how much money they have left to sign recruits? They are wating to see what happens in the way of early departures with Turris and Geoffion.

Eaves has 8 forwards lined up for the next two years with 6 expected forward departures and another 6 forwards graduating after that 2009-2010 season. So playtime will be at a premium in that 2009-2010 season, but their will be plenty of opportunities for the 2009 freshmen after that first season but they could always play well enough in their freshman campaign to keep themselves in the lineup and someone else in street clothes. I'm not sure how a little competition is bad for the players.

Geoffrian leave early haha for what the echl? blake wheeler has a better shot of ever playing for the great one

4:17 - I agree, Wheeler does have a better shot at playing for Gretzky than Geoffrion does. You dum MORAN!

Nashville signed Suter just to have him play 90 minutes to the east for a season. I believe Geoffrion was quoted when drafted as saying something like, "I am for sure going to Wisconsin for one year." I would say it isnt unreasonable to expect Nashville to make him an offer.

Geoffrion is definately not going to be an offensive powerhouse in the NHL, but he'll definately being playing there someday. He is a smart player and outstanding PK guy. One more year at UW won't hurt him though, so he should stay.

wisc has nine forward recruits lined-up: Thurber, Erstad, Hickey, Smith, Monpetit, Stephan, Murray, Barnes,Lee. Ford is only forward scholarship senior leaving. The junior class has two scholarship forwards leaving the following year. Allowing for a couple going pro there is a logjam at forward. It is undeniable. Even taking into consideration PRO defections this is pretty clearly over-recruiting.

"Nashville signed Suter just to have him play 90 minutes to the east for a season"

Since that was the strike year he couldn't have played in the NHL that year anyway. A lot of players were rushing to sign before the strike hit. They knew they would lose money if they waited.
