The first game of Minnesota's "Semifinal Saturday" turned out to be a great one.
In front of over 4000 fans at the DECC in Duluth, 4th seeded Cloquet knocked off the section's top seed, Duluth East by a score of 6-5. The game went back and forth a number of times. East led 1-0 after the first period, before Cloquet stormed back to take a 4-2 lead after two periods.
Duluth East dramatically took the lead back in the third period, but Cloquet defenseman David Brown scored his third goal of the game with about 2 and a half minutes left to tie the game, and then scored his fourth of the game to win it with 12 seconds left in the game.
Cloquet will take on the winner of the next game at the DECC between Anoka and Grand Rapids.
