After further review, WCHA commissioner Bruce McLeod has suspended Denver's J.P Testwuide for one game, and added another game to the suspension of North Dakota's Kyle Radke for their fight on Saturday night. McLeod said his pretty darn good official, Marco Hunt, "under-called" the incident by not giving each player a game disqualification.
The suspension should be no big deal for North Dakota. Radke will now miss both games of their series against Bemidji State, and really, a harsher penalty might have been forcing them to play Radke.
Testwuide's suspension is a little more serious for Denver. Denver is already down a couple forwards with Brock Trotter leaving for the pros, and Tyler Ruegsegger out with an injury. Without Testwuide and Vossberg, they may struggle to fill four lines on Friday night against Anchorage.

thanks for not bashing the sioux. a fight happened, oh well. its hockey. the only problem with this is hunt should be suspended as well a game as the 2nd fight never should have happened right if he did his job?? exactly. just the priciple in this matter reeks of a open can of worms for the future with another fk up involving a wcha ref and wcha game. nice blog and go sioux.
he bashed the sioux(fans mostly) a few days ago. go sioux also:)
The Sioux are the villans of the leauge and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris you're a wuss and your takes are very weak.
Rakde misses 2 games instead of one.....
Who gives a rip??? That no talent hack is a worthless as a fart in the wind. Bemidji might be happy though....one less stooge on the ice.
Maybe Forney might get a shot this weekend. He sure doesn't seem to be developing very well in Grand Forks.
Maybe he should go pro.
I am new to this blog. Why do you hate the Sioux so much, Chris?
forney go pro? hahahahhaahah
he has had many operations on his body. a couple this last summer when most think he had 1 done. you cant do a thing about injuries and how they affect someones body at all. you have to feel like a kid like michael and hope if he sticks with it he can contribute his last 2 seasons. i think if he was still hurt they would have medical redshirted him a while ago. no reason not to if hes hurt. best of luck to forney and go sioux. easily sweep bsu, 5-1, 4-0
question of the weekend - over or under on 4 total goals for the weekend vs the pathetic gophers and badgers - rather watch paint dry...boring..go badgers
cuz they check to hard.
why does chris hate on the sioux - hmmmm..usaully he has been cool regarding the sioux but since the sioux bich slap michigan every year to eliminate them thats why. make it 3 years in a row this year....hope its the title game though. 2 storied teams in the end with #8 for the sioux after the oshie strikes the wolverines
I find it amusing when someone calls Chris a "wuss" yet does so ANONYMOUSLY...
David U. in Grand Forks ALSO says Chris is a "wuss" -- among other things. Are you happy now? The Gwoz has to love how his theory of begging for more discipline backfired. He had better hope the next step isn't the WCHA watching the coaches' actions and noticing him forcing his players into fights (hell, even Coach Eades -- the one most of us worry about losing control -- was yanking UND players out of the fray while Gwoz was instigating "defense" that never came!). The Goph's run goalies, then run for cover, DU is not shy about physical confrontations, nor is Mankato or Wisconsin. Heck, even the CCHA saw a pretty good scrum this season (not to mention the chaos between RIT and Canisius!). Vossberg's beat down was as much about the two-hander he laid on freshman forward Brad Malone along the bench earlier in the series as anything else -- well, that and being part of a 12-on-2 scrum (at least initially). But what would a bunch of hacks know about fighting their way out of a paper dragon?
Hmmm. Couldn't the league enforce the suspension only during league play? Or would that run afoul of the NCAA's rules regarding suspending a player for the next game...
I have no problem with roughing it up. Two issues: I don't believe the Sioux coaching staff are in control of their team. They are kicking everyone's butt right now but the minute they struggle a bit this could bring them down.
Radke punching the guy on the ice is a complete puss move. He would die in the NHL for that.
Goons, goons, and more goons. Get out your halos. The Sue are in full force.
I'm looking forward to the day when capital letters finally make an appearance in a North Dakotan comment.
Sioux fans are a bunch of pussies just like their dirty team.
Radke, a no talent hack huh? Well, maybe he doesn't get the ice time and looks a bit reckless on the ice, but the guy has got a heart of gold. Radke would not of jumped on the wimp from DU if he had just taken his helmet off and fought like a man. All college hockey players have talent or they wouldn't be here, he is an effective on the penalty kill and can kick ass, every team needs an intimidator. You can bet when Radke gets on the ice, the other team is looking over their shoulder.
As for Fourney, the poor kid took a cheap hit at an up-and-coming hockey promotion after his senior year, I hate to see that happen to any player. If he does get healthy and gets some ice time next year, he will probably have a fair shot at proffessional hockey, the boy's got jump and great playmaking abilities.
"the guy has a heart of gold..."
That's cute....you must work for Hallmark. Radke is a no talent stooge. Always has been, always will be. Next stop for him: serving sno-cones at the carnival.
Throw a guy to the ice...fight's over. Throw a guy down and throw punches while he's down and his head is near the ice....you deserve your ass kicked in.
