Crandall to Wisconsin

The Wisconsin media is awash with stories of goalie Aaron Crandall committing to the Badgers for the 2009 season.

Crandall played his high school hockey at St. Thomas Academy where he helped guide the Cadets to a state championship in 2006. This year, his senior year of high school, he is playing for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. Crandall was one of the finest goalies in Minnesota last year, and he should help continue Wisconsin's legacy of fine goaltending.

Waiting for the Goofy fans to chime in with their "we never recruited him" comments.

We never recruited him....HA!

Sorry, just had to do it....I'm not a Goofer fan though.

Kind of like Becky fans when Condon committed.

So Minnesota has a goalie recruit lined up already when Long Island graduates errrr, I mean runs out of college eligibility?

The rodents don't need no stinking goalie's. They'll just play with 6 skaters and out score everyone 12-11. Goalie's are a part of a "boring style" of hockey that is so beneath the treassured M.

the treasured M haha thats a joke in itself

If you stole Zach Budish from us you might have some bragging rights, but who cares about this kid...Sconi can have him!!

Unlike Wisc and ND we have so many bomb players in our state, and the truth is we don't need them all... its not too far fetch to say we didn't recruit him.

Have you seen this kids stats... even if he plays for a bad team his save % should be better than 88.

Nice pick up Drunkin Sconi's!!! Stick to Canadian kids!

Too bad Condon never took an official visit to UW and never got an offer. Keep trying Goofy fans!!!!!!

Yea and No. Dak never wanted Danny Irmen... look how that worked out for them... he dominated every time he went to GF... and of course we all remember him showing those hicks the "M" on his jersey.

Yes I know for a fact that it came down to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Wisconsin made in offer early in the week and Minnesota was talked to this week He visited Minnesota this summer also.

Who would make a better horse jockey Hakstol or Eaves??

Paint thinner for everyone, in Wisconsin, that is.

Seriously though, isn't Minnesota more interested in Kent Patterson?

Or did Patterson commit somewhere else?

Graham Melanson's save % in juniors was .888. He turned out to be a all-WCHA goalie by his sophmore season. Plus the kid has 2 more years to develop. You Gopher fans never learn.

Best horse jockey? Isn't that what tyler hirsch and nick larson is trying out for?

Anonymous said...

Grahm Cracker Melanoma? Who the hell is that??

Anonymous said...

Ryan Duncan fits in the elfish look as well!

Lets not be petty and get back to the topic people...The bottom line is although it would be really close, a fat drunkin sconi could out drink and fat drunkin hick from No Dak any day of the week... Let's not lose sight of that!

Wisconsin really never did recruit Condon. At all. That's not a Wisconsin person just being bitter.

But according to Susie and St. Clown fans "recruiting" equals; has your coaching staff ever seen a kid play. As established in the case of Fink, Festler, Finehage and Hanowski vs. the State of Minnesota.

So until it can be unequivocally established that Sconnie coaching staff never saw Condon play, Condon was recruited by Becky.

I am just kidding Becky fans. Condon led the Elite lead in scoring and the Gopher coaching staff recruited him. That's all I need to know to welcome him to the Maroon and Gold.

Congratulations on getting another great Minnesota kid. Crandall's poor USHL stats may have more to do with the talent around him than the quality of his play.

I hope Budish commits to the Gophers, but to me the real remaining prize is Nick Mattson. It'll hurt if he chooses another school.

I can see why Goofy fans don't remember Melanson, he beat the Gophers five times in 99'-00.

And no Condon was never recruited by UW. You will probably see a story about that in the Wisc State Journal in the next couple weeks.

Current o'phr goalie frosh might keep those looking for PT away!!

o'phr...that's a good one. Will the O'phers beat the landcows to get their first conference win, or do they not win one all year?

Becky fans... wake up. Condon not recruited by UW. Haha... big Joke. Both Oz + KP at Condons games. Hard to miss em at small rinks. Condon visited UW + toured with uh 1 guess...uh...Andy Brandt from...oh ya. Wausau too. Big surprise there.

Face it. UW lost both Condon plus Soley this year. 2 greats from WI bolted. UW recruited + lost em. End of story for WI. Becky fans..wise up.
