Hirsch in the News Again

You can add another chapter to the sad saga of Tyler Hirsch.

Hirsch had recently been trying to resurrect his hockey career, and start his professional hockey career. He attended the Minnesota Wild training camp as a free agent, trying to earn a contract.

Last Friday, the Houston Aeros, Minnesota's AHL affiliate announced that Tyler Hirsch had signed a contract with the Aeros, and would be assigned to the ECHL.

Sunday, Hirsch emailed Michael Russo, Wild beat writer for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune to say that he had not signed the contract and that the Wild had been unethical in saying that he had signed.

After news of this broke, the Aero's GM Tom Lynn said the Wild planned to cut all ties to Hirsch.

Hirsch's lowlights while with the University of Minnesota included the well-documented outburst at the Final Five, missing the first game of the 2006-2007 season after showing up late for a team meeting, and finally, being kicked off the team in the middle of last season.

Anyone here about three gopher hockey players that got in trouble last night in Dinkytown? There was a thread started on GPL about this and then deleted. One was a incoming recruit.

Gopher players getting in trouble in Dinkytown and Gopher Puke Live deleting threads to keep it under wraps...where have I heard this story before...oh yeah..Jeff "long island" Frazee and Phil "one nut" Kesshole. I hope it is not true so we don't have to see Lucy dole out his brand of "internal" punishment again.

Here, here I much prefer the harsher penalties imposed by Hak.

It was deleted by a moderator because it was nothing but rumor. If more news becomes available, I have no problems with it being posted on GPL.

Some of us don't need to sign up for a google or blogger account (or to be a fan of a stinking rotten rodent either).

Guess we'll just have to wait for the police blodder to come out...someone wake Sid up and let him know to go get the police reports.

A rumor posted on a message board...imagine that.

Yeah.... It is SOOOO hard to enter a name under "Other" without having to register. But if you want to take shots while hiding behind that keyboard, please feel free to do so.

WOW. This guy is unemployable.

He leaves his college team feeling mentally unstable (the fact that he acknowledge that there was a problem was actually a highlight in this sad affair) then takes a year off then tries to come back, does so seemingly successfully (with the team meeting bump in the road notwithstanding) and then gets kicked off the team and the Mild STILL give him a shot.

What does he do? He whines to the media about some perceived unethical conduct which gets him immediately canned. So much for a come back.

This kid isn't just mentally ill. He's an idiot. Was it unethical? Did the Mild mistreat him? WHOOPDEDOO!!!! Go to the ECHL team and rip the ECHL a new one, then make them eat crow by not only being a great player, but a great teammate. THat forces them to promote him to the AHL AT LEAST! That's how you handle adversity playing a game for a living anyhow.

Sheesh, welcome to life as a working stiff, Tyler. Congrats.

For once, I actually applaud a roster move by the Mild organization.

You really think a kid that can play a couple (3?) years at Shattuck needs to worry about working anywhere?

They should change the name of Mariucci arena to The Cuckoo's Nest. Look, standing by the Mural is McMurphy and Nurse Ratchett! And look over by all the 2nd place trophy's is Martini and Chief!!!

I agree about the name change. Then we can rename all the other arenas too.

For Becky, I suggest "The Building the Basketball Fan Donated." And for Susie, either "The Adolph Hitler Memorial Bunker" or "The Ralph Engelstadt Nazi Reichstag Memorial." Holocaust deniers get a 10% discount.

Notice how all Goofer fans assume a negative post directed towards them comes from either Wisconsin or UND...that's hilarious.

Hopefully this guy gets some help. Contacting the press about the Wild's "unethical" behavior sounds like a move made out of sickness.
