Southern Minnesota Express(NAHL) goalie Simon Paulgaard has signed a letter of intent to play for Denver next year.
Paulgaard's hockey career has been Alger-esque, from earning a back-up spot on the Express at their open tryouts, to earning the starting job for the Express, and now, to a spot on a WCHA hockey team. He'll join former Express teammate Dusty Jackson on the Pios.
Paulgaard had good stats last season with the Express and was amazing in the playoffs, posting a 1.80 GAA and .944 save percentage, highlighted by a 54-save triple overtime victory over Fargo-Moorhead to advance to the NAHL national tournament.
