WHL Draft

The WHL had their draft yesterday. You can see all the picks here.

American Luke Moffatt went second overall to the Kelowna Rockets, and it sounds like he may sign with them, which is bad for college hockey. Other guys that went in the first round of the draft that were said to have considered college hockey were Kevin Sundher, Austin Madaisky, and Connor Redmond, whose father played at Denver.

The next American to go in the draft was California's Brandon Carlson in the 3rd round, 60th overall. Jason Zucker from Vegas went in the 4th round.

Two Minnesotans were drafted. Warroad's Brett Hebel was drafted 147th and Champlin Park's Vince Nash was drafted 178th. I don't know much about either player, though they both seem like kids that have good size, but are still pretty raw.

California players Matt Nieto and Shane Sooth weren't even drafted yesterday, which makes it seem likely that they will end up playing college hockey.
