Fisher Commits to Minnesota

Minnesota received a commitment from Sioux Falls forward Drew Fisher for next season.

Fisher was third on the Stampede in scoring last season with 43 points in 56 games. He's listed at 6-3 209 lbs. He joins Ben Gordon and 2008 recruit Jake Youso has players from International Falls to commit to the Gophers.

Does this commitment signal KO's departure?

Good pickup for the Gophers.

Most likely. KO wasn't mentioned in Lucia's letter to season ticket holders about next season's key players so it seems the writing is on the wall. After last year I'm sure Lucia is looking to build as much depth as possible, as is evident by the fact that 15 forwards and 8 defenseman are going to be on the roster to start the year.

Nice committment for the Gophers. This kid was recruited by other schools down the stretch. I know that a couple of CCHA schools and Alaska Anchorage in the Wcha ( I think he took an official visit to UAA) was recruiting him. The Gophers swoop in and bag another player.

Oh Woohoo, he was recruited by Alaska and Ferris St. He must be awesome then.

Minnesota recruit Sam Lofquist who had commited to the school for 08-09 is listed on the OHL's London Knights training roster this week.the thing is minnesota is WHL territory as far as CHL players are concerned and the knight never drafted him.possible another NCAA player lost to the OHL.
