Pateryn Commits to Michigan

Greg Pateryn, who was a junior defenseman for Birmingham Brother Rice has committed to Michigan for the 2009 season. Pateryn was selected in the 3rd round of this past fall's USHL Future's Draft by Cedar Rapids and then traded to Ohio, in exchange for Dan Dries.

I'm not sure if he will return to Rice for his senior year, or go to the USHL, but it sounds like he will definitely play an extra year of junior hockey after high school before joining the Wolverines.

Once again Gordon has added to his #1 overall recruited class for 2009.

#1 recruited classes have brought zero NC since 1998. His gig is over rated!! Old school coaching does not improve 2007 players.

You morons need to stop with the "#1 recruiting class" BS. Just because some idiot poster on USCHO thought it once doesn't mean all Michigan fans do.
