Outrage

By now, I'm sure most of you have seen the story about the USC goalie. Why does it seem like this time of year, every year, some jackass from a club team out west does something stupid like this? I forget the exact incident last year, but I think UCLA was involved. Anyway, I'm just waiting for the inevitable article blasting the entire game of hockey from some low-level newspaper writer that always comes with an incident like this.

(These links come via MGoBlog)Some NBA beat writer got all angry about blogs, even though he likes to steal from blogs. It makes me glad to work in college hockey, where all the writers I've had the honor of meeting have been really nice guys. Apparently the line of self-righteousness is between page 3 and 4 of the Sports section.

Good ole ESPN. Can't put out an NCAA article until sometime in April, but man, they can nail the club team goalie and put him in the headlines. Bah.

That NBA beat writer sure does know a lot about blogs considering he never reads them. He sounds like he knows that dead tree journalism will be going the way of the buggy whip soon.

He longs for the day when the lamestream media acted as sole gatekeeper of information. He fancied himself as a real insider. Blogs have exposed him for the poseur that he is.
