Hunter Bishop has left North Dakota to return to the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. He'll probably pick a different college after spending another year in Vernon.

CC players discuss The Fight with Anchorage. The WCHA appealed the suspension to the NCAA, but was denied. It's going to be tough for both teams, but I think I agree with the NCAA's decision.

Shane Frederick writes about MSU's freshmen. Frederick mentions that an Andreas Nodl or Kyle Okposo hasn't emerged out of MSU's freshmen class, though really, that was never expected. Okposo and Nodl will likely be gone in two years, if not one year, while all of MSU's guys are likely four-year guys, so it will take patience for those kids to really pay off.

Way old, I don't post enough about CCHA teams. Here's a profile of BGSU's Derek Whitmore.

Miami's Charlie Effinger doesn't mind athlete drug testing.

Adam Wodon breaks down Team USA's roster for the World Juniors.

USHL Hockey Blog has a list of college commitments by USHL team. Over 100 players from the league have already committed.

The Chicago Steel got a new general manager. Hopefully it's the start of some major changes in Chicago.

NTDP forward Vinny Saponari is interested in Wisconsin. It seems kind of odd to me, since it seems like Wisconsin has a lot of forwards for 2008/2009, but they still need a lot of forwards for 2007.

I'm not sure if he had any NCAA eligibility left since he attended training camps, but '91 born defenseman Jared Cowan signed with the Spokane Chiefs, so it's now official. He's rated as one of the top defenseman available for the 2009 NHL draft.

INCH Hobey Tracker is up. Still no Morin, though I guess I've got no qualms with Dan Rosen being the Hidden Hobey since he's having a nice year.

Well Sapanori is from Georgia - it'd only make sense he's interested in WI. (;

When will these kids learn that the 14th forward and the 8th defenseman won't see any icetime! Wisconsin has 5 kids slated to graduate in the next two years, and they already have 8 forwards recruited to come in by '08! Learn something from Nigel Williams Vinny and pick a different school!

Dowell, Carlson, Joudrey, Brandt, Ford will graduate in the next 2 years, Skille will be long gone (and Turris may not be more than a one year player), & the roster is otherwise cluttered with several partial scholarship/walkon players like Bombach, Grotting, Mitchell, & Bendickson. There is a difference between quantity and quality. A talented forward like Vinny will have plenty of oppurtunity to play early and often.
