This isn't huge news, but any time I get to break a story, I'm excited to do it. Ferris State got a commitment from Cedar Rapids co-captain defenseman Scott Wietecha. He is fast and tough.
Chris Heisenberg is reporting that Minnesota State got a commitment from Victoria(BCHL) forward Garry Nunn. Nunn is a young kid(born 11-89) and a talented forward. Mav Hockey Nation has a little more.
If anyone is interested, NHL Central Scouting went and got official measurements on the top players in the BCHL. Here they are:
Riley Nash- 6'1" 171 lbs.(Same height, four pounds lighter than listed weight)
Ben Winnett- 6'0" 169 lbs.(Inch shorter, 11 pounds lighter than listed)
Casey Pierro-Zabotel-6'1" 205 lbs. (Inch shorter, 3 lbs. lighter than listed)
Kyle Turris- 6'1" 170 lbs. (Inch taller, 5 lbs. heavier than listed)
Nothing too surprising other than Turris was a little bit bigger than previously thought, which can probably only help his draft status.
