Helgeson Commits to Minnesota

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that Faribault High School defenseman Seth Helgeson has committed to Minnesota. That's right. Faribault has hockey players that don't go to Shattuck-St. Mary's. Helgeson is a sophomore, so the earliest he would join the Gophers is the 2009-2010.

Being the intrepid, johnny-on-the-spot blogger that I am, I'll be watching Helgeson play tomorrow night when Faribault takes on Mankato East, so expect more on Helgeson tomorrow night/Friday.
