Two Commits for Michigan

This comes from Bob Miller at the Michigan Rivals site.

Michigan picked up a commitment from forward A.J. Treais, a 1991 birthdate from the Little Caesar's organization, and Jon Merrill, a 1992 defenseman from Little Caesar's.

I got the opportunity to see Treais play at the Select 15s and I was very impressed. He's got outstanding speed and is a great puckhandler. Definitely a nice commitment for Michigan.

I'm still looking for info on Merrill. A 1992 birthdate is an extremely early commitment, even for Michigan, so he must be something special.

Update:

Not surprisingly, there is little to be found on Merrill. He's playing for Little Caesar's Midget Minor team, meaning he's playing up a year. He was born on February 3rd, 1992, meaning he is 14 years and 8 months old, which sets a new record for youngest player to verbally commit to a college hockey team. He's already listed at 6'2" 175 lbs.
