Casey Parenteau, a forward for the Sioux Falls Stampede, has committed to play for St. Lawrence next season. Parenteau, who is originally from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, played one season for St. John's in Division III before heading back to the USHL to try and earn a Division I scholarship. That decision paid off for Parenteau. He was selected to the USHL All-Star game this season and attracted attention from a lot of Division I schools. This past weekend, he visited Nebraska-Omaha.
Kyle Medvec, a defenseman who is playing for Apple Valley High School in Minnesota this season, committed to play for Vermont. Medvec committed to the Catamounts for 2007, so he will probably play in the USHL next year. One of the things that helped Medvec get attention this year has been playing on the blueline with Minnesota recruit David Fischer.
