NHL Central Scouting released their mid-term rankings, which is the first list they put out that ranks each North American player.
You can view the list for North American skaters here, and North American goalies here.
As always, some very interesting choices from the NHL CSB, but overall, they seem to like the American players this year, especially as you move down the list, you start to see a lot of American players eligible last season that weren't selected.

I wonder of all these Northern American skaters that get drafted, how many will actually play in the nhl?? one, two maybe three?
statistically, the answer is 20; i didn't see Beau Schmitz on list; he's gotta be in the top 200; if you put b. rempel @ 85, then BS is definitely in top 85; BS skates faster backwards than BR does forward; these are rankings on drugs.
Beau Schmitz is good, but he is 5'8" and may be done growing. Rempel is 6'3" and has lots of upside.
One reason- Schmitz is in the OHL- lost in the sea of great players- NTDP was a better path.
How can Ryan Walters(DesMoines Buccaneers USHL) not be on this list. He dominated the Minnesota high school the past 2 years as fresh and soph and moved onto much better competition than highschool rosters and is teams(Des Moines) leading scorer at 17 years old. What did they want him to stay in high school a third year and put up 100 plus points or move on and prove he can compete weekly with the big boys ??
Also I agree how is Beau Schmitz and also Paul Phillips not on this list. All three of these guys are top 100 or less??
Ryan Walters is proably not on the list becuz he is to young.
this is ryan walters draft year
Yes it is his draft year July 30 bday according to DesMoine BUCS website.
If it isnt his draft year then next year he should be projected a for sure 1st round pick with the year he is having this year as 17 year old junior in highschool
The redline report has him ranked inthier January issue according Badger Beat at #48 for this years draft
