St. Thomas Academy forward Christian Isackson has committed to Minnesota, choosing the Gophers over Wisconsin and North Dakota.
Isackson is one of the top '92 forwards in the country. He turned down an offer to join the NTDP team in order to stay at St. Thomas in Minnesota.* He played with the US U17 team this past summer in Slovakia.
*St. Thomas wasn't very good when Isackson was in the third grade, and thus, will likely not be very good this year. I'm sure Isackson just wanted to help out so the school didn't get embarrassed this year.

so, did the icemen ever beat the chiefs? . . . . . . . . no, wait a minute . . . . . . .I meant to say, did the chiefs ever beat the icemen?
good luck
Maize: Whats your beef with STA?
Maybe he hates that they don't have the intestinal fortitude to play up a class like they should. Or maybe that's my beef with them...
Correct, Icemen were stacked... Ranging from Ford in the nets, to Rau, Gavin, Patterson up front.
I believe the Chiefs "beat" the Icemen, in the Stars of Tomorrow Tournament, where Icemen head coach (only coach), Noel Rahn, was ejected from the game, thus, forfeiting the game while they were winning 5-1 late in the 3rd period.
I wasn't surprised by Isackson committing, but Max Gardiner was a shock. Congrats to Christian and Max and Gophers coaching staff as well.
Wisconsin still trying to get their first sibling to commit. Rumor is they think they will get younger Schmaltz. He is a '95 in six or seventh grade but it is said he has interest from Sioux and Irish so look for Badgers to jump on this one quick.
