This is a real nice hire for CC and I think he'll help them a lot.

I guess spending more time watching his boys play hockey wan't the real reason he left MN?

Well, you know if you come out and rip the Goofer empire as the reason you left, then nobody else will hire you. That's how "special" they are.....

This should be a good fit for both CC and Coach Guentzel.

actually he will get to watch his boy, Gabe, play a lot since he is a freshman at CC.

His son is going to be a CC freshman this fall, so it's not completely untrue.

What the people in Minnesota don't realize is that Mike Guentzel was pushed out in Minnesota. I had a former gopher hockey player tell me as much. The reality is that Minnesota isn't as perfect as some want to believe...

Thats true, but in Lucia's defense he wasnt "his" guy. He was a Woog hold over, and as great of a coach as he is, he and Don didnt see eye to eye. It happens, although its too bad becasue he was a gopher. Hopefully he does well @ CC and lands a head coaching job.

Actually is has been discussed extensively on this site and on the Gopher Puck Live site that Guentzel's leaving was not his choice. The rumor is friction between the two assistants led to an ultimatum from Coach Lucia.

This seems like a great hire for CC and the Guentzels.

I wounder if Mike G. getting pushed out paints a not so flattering picture of tDon? Mabye he isn't as good of a coach as the media is trying to paint him?
