Detroit Honeybaked defenseman Brandon Archibald has signed with the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL.
Archibald visited some colleges this past year and definitely would have gotten an NCAA scholarship eventually, but it's hard to fault him for taking what I'm sure was a pretty offer from the Soo.

in related news, Austin Watson signed with Windsor today.
Archibald was set to take a spot on the NTDP and Notre Dame was very high on him.
Surprised but not surprised as a lot of U.S. kids are taking the OHL route now.
Interesting - this is a college hockey blog, why the interest? I guess now the window dressing comes off and we get to see if all the hype was legit. Could've played college hockey on grades alone - why the O?
a lot of americans want to play in the O,both boys know its the best junior league in the country. They can play in the best league and still get a top notch ed. pac from a D1 school payed for by the ohl.
ITS A NO BRAINER
6:56 - Maybe you should see if the OHL would pay for you to finish middle school. It could only help their image to get people like you spelling better than a 10 year old.

Rarely do we ever see a Minnesota kid choose the CHL route.
"Rarely do we ever see a Minnesota kid choose the CHL route."
Shhhhh, don't tell that to Peter Mueller.
Peter Mueller was too stupid to get into college and had a weird age. He would have had to go to the USHL after he aged out of the NTDP and then what? Sign with the Coyotes straight out the USHL? Don't think thats ever happened.
