Oshie Signs

Andy Strickland of the website Hockey Buzz is reporting that North Dakota forward T.J. Oshie will be signing with the Blues tomorrow.

It's been expected that Oshie would sign with St. Louis ever since UND's season ended, and now that his school year is over, it looks like the deal will be made official.

Unfortunately it is only the beginning of the Sioux exodus.....

who cares; I'm surprised nothing has been said in this blog about the erroneous (side of net) goal awarded the Finns in the recent iihf competition

Say goodbye to Chorney, Finley and likely Kozek as well.

Did Oshie get a private elevator?

Will the Hobie garden gnome be signing as a free agent or coming back?

Joe "Highway Cone" Finley will be back in Grand Forks for his Senior season. Kozek? Pretty funny, he'll be back in Grand Forks too. Duncan? Grand Forks for his fourth season too. Chorney? Damaged goods. Lowball contract or Grand Forks. Oshie?(The Wizzinator) The most overrated player in college hockey the last few years. No team hardware and the skimpiest numbers of any All American forward in recent memory. Lots of hype, little results.

Soo fans have such over inflated opinions of their players.

anon 4:02..I guess those who select the hobey finalists and all americans had an inflated opinion of him too. As for his numbers, there's more to a hockey player than numbers.

being a goph's fan i've loved this kids style he should be just fine with the Blues and their young organization.

Anon 5:32, You mean things such as team accomplishments? Like I said, no hardware. No taking his team to any championships. No MacNaughton, no Broadmore, no NC. Lots of hype. Mr. Intangible.

Couldn't even beat Kessel for Rookie of the Year.

6>1...Johnathon Toews didn't do any of those things mentioned on your list either, but I think he's done ok....

Hopefully all WCHA players are not measured by how they stack up to Phil Kessel, and hopefully the U of M doesn't compare their players to Phil either because after a year Phil wanted off that campus in the worst way....

5:29, My comments didn't have anything to do with what a player has done post college. They had to do with what a player did during their time in college. That is why I believe Oshie, despite being a very good player, is overrated nonetheless.

The record speaks for itself. Skimpy stats and no team titles of any kind. Should make for a good third liner with the Blues.
