Tournament Previews

In case you didn't read through all of the previews, my predicted Frozen Four looked this:

West: Michigan State
Midwest: North Dakota
East: Michigan
Northeast: Boston College

My pick for the national champion? Niagara. Sure, they'll probably lose the only game they play, but it will be to the number one team in the country. Their strength of schedule will be through the freakin' roof, and at the end of the day, that is what matters more than who actually wins or loses on the ice.

For what it's worth, the NHL scout who won the Tournament Pick'em last year picked a Frozen Four of Colorado College, North Dakota, Michigan, and Miami, with North Dakota beating CC in the final.

Here are the College Hockey News previews for the Midwest, East, West, and Northeast regionals.

The INCH previews for the East, West, Northeast, and Midwest regionals.

The Hoover Street Rag previews for the Midwest, West, Northeast, and East regionals.

I bet the WCHA teams are glad that the champion isn't determined the same way you picked Niagara, otherwise they wouldn't have won 5 out of the last 6 and and 6 out of the last 8 national championships.

Everyone knows what you were implying with your pick of Niagara, but WCHA teams do actually win the majority in the last decade. Again, you look kind of stupid.

Sparty is one and done. There's not a chance in hell they beat CC on the big ice sheet. North Dakota might be the favorite in the Midwest, but Denver has had their number in the playoffs. I would not be at all surprised to see Denver come out of that regional.

Sparty has a good enough team and enough talent (including in goal) to beat anyone. They are not consistent but they can beat anyone (this is coming from a Michigan fan).

Did you not watch hockey last year? I think you are making too much of a "big ice sheet."

Have you seen CC skate, buddy? If they are "on" they will skate circles around Sparty. Hence the factor of the big ice sheet.

Last year is last year......ancient history. You can bet the farm Sparty loses tonight.

Well, the WCHA certainly blew me away today. Inspiring offensive skill.

Crow - served. bye-bye CC. Tried to tell ya.

Too bad you lost your farm. I guess you'll be looking for a new place to live! C'ya.
