Colorado College senior forward Derek Patrosso is back with the team, after a three month suspension for a student conduct violation.
Patrosso spent that time back home in Michigan, practicing with the Little Caesar's Midget AAA team, and working with a power skating instructor.

To be on a team that competes in the NCAA, don't you actually have to go to class, even if you are suspended from that team?
yeah... I thought Chris was just being sarcastic until I read the story he linked to. Really... mighty Colorado College with a pretty good academic reputation is letting this kid hang out in Detroit?
We must be missing something in this story.
If I read the original story correctly he may have been suspended from the University? It appears that the academic block he was suspended for, ended before the WCHA playoffs. So, I assume we is back "in classes" this academic block and can play.
Maybe he's taking twelve 1-credit courses that only run half of the semester.
So, as long as a trimester or academic period starts before the playoffs, they can have anyone enroll and be eligible for their team? That can't be right....
Nice example Owens is setting. Let a guy who was suspended for misconduct join the team for the playoffs. Sounds more like a reward than anything else. Not very smart Coach!
Colorado College uses the Block Plan, which divides the academic year into eight three-and-one-half week segments or “blocks.” You basically take one class at a time for 3 1/2 weeks.
He was suspended by the school not the team.
Doesn't matter who he was suspended by. The bottom line is the NCAA allows a team to reinstate a player that wasn't allowed to be enrolled for a period of time. That's no biggy, but if you want to leave one school for another you have to sit out a year??? Where's the logic in that??
