New Commits

St. Cloud got a commitment from Danish defenseman Oliver Lauridsen, who was playing junior hockey in Sweden. Lauridsen will bring some much needed size to the Husky blueline. Lauridsen is playing with the Linkopings U20 team. Former Michigan forward Mike Helber is currently the general manager of Linkopings' top team.

Colorado-native Luke Salazar committed to Denver. He's having a great year in the NAHL.

Forward Carter Madsen committed to Merrimack, making another forward from Alberta that will play for the Warriors next year.

(Danish) to SCSU.

Yet another Non-US player taking a spot away on a US-based college team.

Well, blame that on the elite US players that aren't committing to SCSU!!

3:27....so then players from the U.S. shouldn't be allowed to go overseas and play on their teams too? Let me guess, you believe players from out of state shouldn't play for your college too...

in a related story, the University of Minnesota decided to pass on the same Danish prospect due to the fact that there was no chance of him bailing on the team after his freshman year.

Minnesota didn't want him

Sounds like another big pylon like Brian Gaffaney was. Nice size but nothing more than a slow footed oaf for other teams to skate around on their way to scoring another goal. From the scouting reports, it sounds like the guy can't skate. I don't see how that is going to fly playing on big ice sheets. But I guess since Motzko can't land any blue chip defensive talent, he has to make a reach and pray.

Maybe he can play with Luca Cunti.

Hopefully this Danish kid doesn't say Skoal too often, or he's gonna get spit on a lot at the Concrete Center.

I think it's awesome that my word verification is fkwad.

It doesn't say he can't skate, it says he needs to work on it.
Find me one young kid who is that size that DOESN'T need to work on skating. Hell, Aaron Marvin needs to work on his skating too, no one is saying he is a bust.
Not to mention he's already playing on the larger sheets seeing as how he's in Europe and most rinks there are Olympic sized.
Bottom line, he'll provide size and possibly some intimidation for guys who constantly hack and Roe, Nodl and Lasch all game.
The Huskies are building a blueline of tough guys with Hepp and Rioux also coming in along with Raboin already being back there.

Watch out SCSU Lou Nanne is on his way to change his mind.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, boy Lou Nanne really scares us...in fact I feel even more safe with the Dane goon coming to SCSU now. Nanne will probably "sthpray" all over him...

Didn't Nanne and Sonmor try to change Parise's mind when UND recruited him? Seems to me that worked out well for da Gophs.

parise would have never went to the U....why do you think the only guys to go to the U from shattuck are okoposo and hirsch? the coaches at shattuck don't look to highly upon the DON

Joe Finley still can't skate. He always looks like he's holding in a shit.

Anonymous said...

Nice observation.

I used to agree with that Finley statement...

He IS a cone on 1-on-1's. But, he is a freak in his D-zone...

+26 this year...best on UND by quite a bit.

Can't argue with those stats...

For a guy who "can't skate" you sure as shit can't say you wouldn't want him on your team. Just watch, this guy who "can't skate" is gonna be an all-american this year which says more than anybody on your guys little peace of crap teams.

Anonymous said...

Spoken like a true UND fan....

If Finley ends up all-american this year that will be the biggest farce since no WMDs. That guy is not even 1st team all league. He gets attention because of his size, nothing else. Big guys in the pros are a dime a dozen. He'll be lucky to make an ECHL roster next year.

finley will be in the A next year and in the show within 3 years...get a clue buddy

"peace of crap"

Nice spelling, dipshit. Must be an UND student.

could you update the CC hockey blog to supportcchockey.blogspot.com? The one listed is defunct

Maybe Joe is Holding "it" in....
could be the "mean" factor in his
game. Actually, I am a fan of Joe's and think he "brings" whats
asked of him to the team....in
spades!

Anon 1:12--Finley in the NHL in 3 years?? You're kidding right??? You obviously don't watch much NHL hockey. The only way he makes it is if his speed, agility, and quickness improve dramatically. Not likely. He will get eaten alive by the quickness of NHL players. Get your head out of your ass.

According to Minnhock forums, Zach Lehrke of Park Rapids committed to play for MNSU Mankato today.

Woodbury's David Eddy commits to SCSU.

Really? Well there was just an article in the Washington times and the GM says he is developing very well and fully expects him to crack the NHL lineup sooner than later dipshit. And not to mention this guy who can't skate is around a +28 after last night and the stats dont lie.

Anonymous said...

Well the GM is not gonna say they wasted a first rd pick and he's a pile of poop.

Anonymous said...

No but you arent going to go out of your way to have an article in the paper and sing his praises if you think he's crap. He would simply just not touch on the subject very much.
