Nebraska-Omaha went to the third overtime with Alaska in Game 3 of their series before winning. The CCHA first round series were great this year. Three of the four series went to 3 games, and two of the Game 3s went to overtime. I think the switch in playoff format has been great for the CCHA.

Brad Schlossman posted his vote for the WCHA awards.

Michigan defenseman Scooter Vaughn broke his jaw last weekend. Vaughn is likely to miss this weekend's series against Nebraska-Omaha, which will likely mean that Eric Elmblad will play in his first career game for Michigan.

Former Minnesota-Duluth defenseman Ryan Geris was attacked by teammate Pat Bateman, formerly of Northern Michigan, and suffered another concussion. It sounds like a pretty ugly incident.

Aaron Ness was named Mr. Hockey in Minnesota. The All-State teams were also released.

Brad only managed to pick 8 UND players for the wcha 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams. One would almost think that UND had won the conference in landslide with that much talent.

No DU guys, no one from CC past 1st team, Wheeler on the 2nd team, Bruess on the team at all, Kangas 3rd team goalie, Oshie for player of the year?

Brad needs to pass whatever he is smoking.

I never thought Pat would flip out and hurt someone off the ice; hope he gets his issues straightened out. In the meantime, suspension without pay is an appropriate punishment.

Brad, word of advice: take of the fuckin Sioux glasses. Your teams are a jokes. Interesting that 4 out of the 6 defenseman slots are from the Sioux. At least run a credible blog.

Shirtless Bob,

Jailtime is an appropriate punishment for Bateman.

Yes. Jailtime would be a better punishment, but as far as I know, the city of Stockton hasn't filed charges against him. All I know is that the Pat Bateman I went to college with, the player I cheered for and the man I had a drink with on many occasions, didn't seem like the kind who would harm another person off the ice.

Why isn't Kyle Okposo not listed on the ballot? WCHA POY in my books.
