Shattuck-St. Mary's defenseman David Carle has committed to Denver. Carle is having a great senior season at Shattuck, and was ranked 74th by NHL Central Scouting.
Denver coach George Gwozdecky reportedly made his final pitch to Carle last weekend, while the Pioneers were in southern Minnesota to play Minnesota State.

Meh, I'm amazed it took him this long to make the obvious choice.
He would have verballed to Wisconsin since it seems that everyone is doing it, but was scarred off by the other 430 verbals that UW has already received.
Also, Minnesota didn't want him.
same as the david toews situation. everyone knew where he was going, it was just a matter of time to announce it. nice recruit for du. they seem to have some issues right now with trotter and a big loss having ruegsegger out vs a shitty umtc team
I wouldn't want to be him, he has big shoes to fill and super high expectations riding on his shoulders.
Matt Carle was indeed a special player for DU. One of those players who comes along once in a life time. I would hope that some day we will see another player of Matt's calibre both on and off the ice. I'm happy that David is coming to Denver. It will be tough to move from under the huge shadow left by Matt. I hope that he (David) isn't viewed as the second coming. Give the kid a chance to carve his own niche.
