More WCHA Ref Problems

It was WCHA referee Todd Anderson's turn to receive reprimand from the WCHA this week after he grabbed Michael Gergen by the jersey in last Friday's game against Minnesota.

It's more bad press for the WCHA and their officials, but a fairly minor one. I'd still rather see Anderson on the ice for a game I'm watching than a large majority of the other officials in the WCHA.

I agree, and that's saying A LOT about the quality (or lack thereof) of officials in this league.

Who is this Thul (I think that's how it's spelled) that was doing the UW/CC series a couple weeks ago? I don't remember seeing or hearing of him before. Didn't do too terrible.

Someone cue the calliope music.

Thul also worked the UND/ Mankato series this past weekend.

Jutting yelled at him all weekend. He was brutal, called off two goals for Mankato on Friday.

Do you guys expect anything different from a group a of guys that are supervised by a man who made a complete ass out of himself by verbally belittling a little league umpire while at his Grandson's t-ball game.

First off, the first wave off was questionable, but the second one legit.

Secondly, Anderson isn't the worst official, but he certainly isn't the best. He is too chatty on the ice. Don't know or care what he says, but it isn't necessary for him to do any of it.

Consistency is an issue, but I don't hold that against him. He's only doing what Papa Shepherd is telling him to do. Fire Shepherd, and the healing process begins.

Agreed on starting at the top with removing Shepherd. If there is one thing that WCHA fans can agree on it is that the sub-standard officiating has to change and the sooner the better.

On a related note CHN reported that Schmidt is on official suspension. It's about time.

Attended Friday's UM-UMD game in Duluth.

Gergen hit Anderson by accident, and Anderson looked to flip out. Even if Gergen said something stupid, which is possible, Anderson was way out of line.

Not a good year for Mr. Shep.
