Call Bud Boomer...

Because the US is going to war with Canada today.

The big game is at 2pm EST when the US U20 team takes on Canada in the World Juniors. I believe the game is being shown on NHL Network. The game is also being shown on TSN, if you get that channel.

Then, the United States U17 team is taking on Team Ontario in London, Ontario at 7pm EST, in a game that will also be shown on TSN. The US advanced to the gold medal game after beating Canada Pacific on Thursday by a score of 3-2.

GO USA!! AMERICAN HOCKEY ROCKS!

Not as much as Canada. Nice job team Canada!!!

Oh yeah American hockey really rocks....the lose to Canada and then their U-17 team loses to Team Ontario, a team that was put together a week prior to the start of the tournament!

LOL at the USA!

LOL Canada, all you talk is how hockey is king up there, yet you don't support half of the NHL franchises. In 5-10 years only Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto will be left. Pathetic. Are you guys that poor or something???

Canada and Ontario dominate both games...

I guess the CHL/OHL showed the NCAA/NTDP what it is all about...

wasn't even close...

Try again next year...

Where is this coming from. Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa are also solid teams and a matter of fact the NHL is thriving because of the six Canuck teams and revenue.

Do some research it's very common knowledge. Also, attending the under 17 final I was shocked how easy the NTDP U-17 got handled.

The gap really has not closed between these two. And yesterday's white-wash at the WJC showed Canada is pulling further ahead.

The Canadian team was a lot younger tha the USA and still handed their heads to them.

Hockey is all we have? Yeah sure, but you forgot your own pasttime...baseball. Remember that sport and remeber when CANADA BEAT YOU at your own "past-time" in the first World Cup of Baseball. You guys just plain suck!

LOL at USA HOCKEY!

World Cup of Baseball?? Wasn't that the tournament when only like 3 American MLB all-stars on the roster. Almost every star player from the U.S. declined to play in it because it was stupid. Why injure yourself a month before the season.

And the only reason why Ottawa reason Ottawa, Edmonton, and Calgary haven't moved yet is because of the new salary cap. Before that dwindling crowds were going to force them out. Way to support your teams fellows in those hotbeds.

So, Canada(and Ontario) cleans the USA yesterday, the CHL/OHL runs the NCAA and the NTDP out of the respective arena's.. and this guy talks about NHL attendance? Maybe this is why he doesn't get it, take some responsibility, you got cleaned yesterday...

Nice class from Canadian fans.
You won, act like you have won before.

Anonymous said...

We are just responding to all the BS from the clowns on here..

We are getting sick about all the negative CHL trash that people always seem to throw around out here

BTW, we have won alot, and we will keep on doing it...if you have a problem with it, get better

How can this be? I mean I thought the NCAA was the GREATEST so how could a team dominated by NCAA players get smoked by a team full of CHLers and how could a NTDP team of future college players get spanked by a very very young team featuring OHL players?

GEE What the heck happened Chris??????????

In single Elim tournaments anything can happen.
You Canadian fans need to grow up and shut up, you're an embarrassment to the rest of the nation.

Anonymous said...

No, your two teams that basically folded are...

Blame others, instead of taking responsibility, and admitting defeat...

Make some more excuses...

It is really saying a lot when one single province can beat a whole nation! The NTDP should be embarassed over their performance. They were the only team there that had the benefit of playing like a team because they have been together since August. All the other clubs were thrown together 2 days before the tournament.

As for the big boys over seas, come on what did you people expect, that the U.S. would actually beat Canada? Come on...wake up and stop dreaming!

As for development, the CHL is by far and a way the best in the world! Don't believe it? Then just look at the CHL players that dotted the rosters of all the best teams in the tournament! The NCAA was only represented by the U.S. and one lone player from Sweden who received very little ice time!

Anybody find it hilarious the Canada contingent is ripping the NCAA yet Canada's leading scorers the last two years were NCAA players.

Anonymous said...

Yup Turris played a whopping 16 games with Wisconsin AFTER already being drafted out of the BCHL.

Of couse U of W had everything to do with his development.....

SimonTemplar said...

I have a better idea.

Put a NCAA and CHL team together for a head to head showdown. Hold the games in Minn or Wisconsin and let er rip. ( 19 yr old )

Oh wait that was already done on Saturday and Kyle and the boys got wooped.

What happened against the Russians.

Typical USA fashion they go for gold or go home.

I'm not saying which is better for development, but Canada needed NCAA kids the last few years, same way the U.S. needed CHL'ers in O'Suillivan and Wisnieki(sp??) in 2004

Anonymous said...

The US should use more CHL player's, they have a history of blackballing players that head north...and they take lesser NCAA players. Until they take the best players, they will keep losing. Look at Canada, they take the best, no matter where they are playing(95% come from the CHL)

Anonymous said...

The only CHL guy that I would have taken over anyone else is Unice to play in goal.
Other than that, I'm fine with the team the U.S. chose

Anonymous said...

Zach Bogosian...Eric Tangradi

I doubt either one would have made the U.S. any better. Especially a 17 year old defenseman.
Remember, this isn't just about taking the best players. It's about taking the right guys for certain roles.

Anonymous said...

Well, they didn't take the right ones, if they way the folded means anything. Bogosian is an 17 year old playing in one of the best junior leagues around, playing against the players that beat the US 4-1 on a nightly basis.

And Canada hockey has a history of blackballing players that head south. Jonathon Toews even pointed this out when he committed to North Dakota on why he was so hesistant to pick the NCAA route. His dream was to play for Canada and he knew that his chances went down because Canada looks so down on their own going NCAA.

Bogosian would not have helped the U.S. period.
Name me the last 17 year old defenseman that made a significant impact i.e. game changer at a World Juniors, I'll wait.
One player would not have made a damn bit of difference, espeically one that would not have been a leader on the team.
