Western Michigan head coach Jim Culhane, whose contract was set to run out at the end of this season, had his contract extended three more years.
Culhane has been a part of the Western Michigan program since he came to the school as a defenseman in 1983. He took over for WMU head coach Bill Wilkinson amid scandal in 1999, and since then has guided Western to a 130-157-23 record.
