There were internet rumors that Burnsville high school forward Tyler Barnes had, or was close to making, a commitment to Wisconsin.
After talking with Capital Times writer Todd Milewski, it looks like Barnes did indeed visit the Badgers recently, but so far, no commitment has been made as of yet.
It looks as though Barnes is still making a decision between Wisconsin and Denver. Barnes is currently one of the top scorers in this fall's Upper Midwest High School Elite League, and last spring, led Burnsville to the state tournament after a shocking upset of top seed Holy Angels.
UPDATEAndy Baggot of the Wisconsin State Journal talked with Barnes' father and apparently Colorado College and St. Cloud are also in the race.
Baggot also has a bit of an update on Patrick Wiercioch. Wiercioch has to get clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse before he can start taking official visits, but that shouldn't be a problem, as Wiercioch is reputedly a pretty good student.
