Hanowski to SCSU

Little Falls High School star Ben Hanowski has committed to St. Cloud for 2009.

Hanowski's high school teammate, Jared Festler, has already committed to the Huskies. The two teamed up to form one of the highest scoring tandems in Minnesota high school hockey history last season with a combined 236 points. The two will be separated this season as Festler will play in the USHL, but the prospect of reuniting with Festler had to be a big selling point for Hanowski.

What does your link have to do with Ben Hanowski's commitment?

I pasted the wrong link. It's fixed now.

The link goes to the SC Times website but there is no story on the page.

Who???

Memo to Who???:

Hanowski was being recruited by SCSU, NoDak, Goofers, and Colorado College. Get to know 'em....

Mind giving us your source for which teams were recruiting Hanowski?

Did you read the linked article that Chris attached...obviously not, cuz its in there. It came from Hanowski's mouth:

"He said he received recruiting interest from a variety of schools, including Minnesota, Colorado College and North Dakota from the WCHA. The USHL’s Omaha Lancers also have the rights to Hanowski, perhaps for next season as it was with Festler, who committed to St. Cloud State last October."

And equally as obvious you overstated what was reported. Receiving interest may mean nothing more a Coach attending one game. That is hardly the same as being actively recruited. My point was many players are guilty of overstating the level of interest shown by a particular program. Then I hoped to find out if you had any independent confirmation of what you said. You do not.

He said he received "recruiting interest", which can be taken many ways. It does not mean he was offered a scholarship, and it does not mean a coach showed up at one game. It could be anywhere in-between. Saying recruiting interest meant that the U and NoDak showed interest in one way or another. You seem to assume that a coach showed up and then had no interest and left. I took the comments at face value. You have proof of your assertion, or are you just pissed the Huskies got ANOTHER recruit? Hehehehe

None of which changes the fact that you overstated the case originally. You said he was "recruited by..." Hanowski said teams showed interest. I have never seen him play, so I have no idea whether to care or not.

You are WAY too caught up in symantics.
Why don't you contact him, he'll tell you what happenend, and then we'll all know. Sheesh!

Anonymous said...

No, I called you on exaggerating the truth and you're not man enough to own up to it.

Not man enough? Dude, get a life!
Go somewhere else and sling your barbs...I could care less what you think.

This has to be a Gopher fan,(Hammy?) they are a really insecure group.

Typical St. Clown fans, shoot your mouth off, with absolutely nothing to back up your BS. Then when someone points this out, you piss and moan about the Gopher fans. How original.

The Susies and the Fake Huskies ought to start a club where they can tell each other stories of how they stole every kid they recruit from the state of Minnesota right off the top of Lucia's wish list.

I'm actually a UND fan. Only a Gopher fan would make a big deal out of all of this!!!

Hanowski did make an unofficial visit to the Minnesota campus in early May when he was in town for the Final 51s for the Advanced 17s tryouts in Plymouth. But the Gophers' interest was pretty lukewarm all along. From what I hear, the same could be said of UND.

I find it ironic that some "anonymous" clown above can bring up my posting name and falsely accuse me of something yet not have the balls to use their own posting name to back up their inaccurate criticism. But, I suppose this is typical of a number of Sioux fans.

Well, at least were getting the recruits at Cloud....Lucia's gonna have his hands full dealing with Motzko on the recruiting trail in Minnesota. And don't give me that crap about any recruits Cloud gets, the Gophers weren't interested in anyeway. That's rodent fan arrogance (we beat them regularly anyway with our recruits!). I bet you 2 or 3 of Motzko's recruits this year would have ended up at the U. You think they had lukewarm intrerest in Aaron Marvin??

Is there any recruit in the history of college hockey that decided to go elsewhere than the goofers get recruited by them? You know for how many minnesota born players play for minny I highly doubt they had no intrest in all these recruits going to other schools. Unless Lucia is a bigger moron than i thought.

This is a great pick up for state, this kid can play.
SCSU's next two recruiting classes in terms of forwards are looking really strong.

The problem with the Susies and the fake Huskies is you claim every Minnesota kid you recruit is poached from the Gophers. Some of them are, like Danny Mattson.

A lot of these kids are being scouted by a Gopher coach. This not the same as being recruited by the Gophers and offered a scholarship. It's too bad that distinction escapes Susie and fake Husky lovers.

When you come onto a public forum and make claims about which kids a certain team has recruited be prepared to be asked to back up your assertions with facts not just hearsay.

You are STILL blabbing about this??? Have you no life??? GO GET ONE!!!
Done with the name-calling also? Susies and fake Huskies??? IS your name Donald? HEHEHE

By the way, NOBODY CARES bout your rant.

SIR YES SIR!!!
Is your anme HITLER?

I think I'll write a bunch of hearsay just to PISS YOU OFF!!!!

Anonymous said...

How can people think that Minnesota wasn't recruiting a kid who put up 111 points as a sophomore? Even if it was at Litte Falls, he is one of the best '09's in the state.
MN was not just "scouting" this kid.
He may not have been given a scholarship offer from them, but he wasn't being ignored either.

7 national titles....

So what's your definition of recruiting then?

At least you agree he never got an offer from Minnesota which is more than the other delusional people from St. Cloud can admit.

Anonymous said...

The "St Cloud people" said that he was "being recruited", or as the story said, had "recruiting interest" from UND and MN and CC. That is a long way from a "offer", as you so truth-stretching assert. There was never anything said about the U "offering" him anything in this blog. Now who is stetching their truths? Maybe Cloud was the first offer and he verbally committed...ever think about that? Nope.

You're still RODENTS!!!!

7 National titles....and the biggest upset losers in NCAA hockey history.

No one said he was offered anything.
But a lot of you seem to think that because he wasn't offered anything, that the Gophers had no interest and I have a hard time believing that considering the numbers this kid has put up.
SCSU simply got to him first, it happened with Marvin, it happened with Christian and it happened with Festler.
This is what Motzko likely has to do, and its working.
