The Scouting News says that Cleveland Barons forward Alex Lippincott verbally committed to Ohio State for the 2010 season.
Lippincott is a '92 birthdate, so I don't know too much about him. He should be at the national Select 15 Festival in St. Cloud in a couple weeks. He joins Beau Schmitz, Jon Merrill, and Jared Knight as the fourth player to commit to a college prior to playing in the national Select 15s.

Schmitz is a 91 who already participated in the selects
Yes, but he made his college commitment prior to playing in St. Cloud last summer. I was talking about all-time.
I should be at the Select 15s this year.
i have played with alex... he is very fast skater along with a very great shot but has to work on his d-zone a little bit
Holy Cow 92's are committing...Now I feel old!
Question is, should colleges really be scouting kids this early. We're seeing this more and more in most college sports. I'm just not sure its best for these kids to commit (even if its only verbal) so long before they'd see a campus. There are pitfalls for everyone involved here. I'm just not sure its right.
