Many times this past season, the question was raised about how a USHL team would do against a Canadian major junior team. It looks like we'll get that answer soon.
The Indiana Ice and Omaha Lancers will play two QMJHL teams in a tournament, in Quebec. The USHL has made great strides over the past few years, and a good showing here would go even farther in giving the USHL more respect in the hockey world. I imagine that these games will be watched with great interest on both sides of the border.

It will be interesting to see the how the officiating at this tournament goes. Canadians take the game very seriously, including the officials.
The Q teams should have a major advantage as they start their camps quite a bit earlier than USHL teams.
Go USHL!
anyone know when Omaha and Indiana start their camps?
If the games are close, it should be a victory for the USHL.
The way CHL people talk, there should be a 10 goal difference every game.
I agree with all these comments. This is a horrible move for the CHL. I'm suprised they allowed this. Even if a USHL team loses 5-2 its still a win for the USHL. If these games are close, just imagine what young canadiens will think about the level of play in college hockey. Officiating is a great question. The USHL should bring one of their own like they did back in the old days.
They are playing Q teams that will be employing exhibition rosters (rookies and bubble players) because their better players will be away at NHL camps.
Cripe, it will be a major embarrasment if the USHL teams don't win!
It sounds like the excuses for the CHL supporters have started already.
According to CHL experts, the fourth liners are better than the USHL first liners.
Actually I am a die hard Gamblers fan and would love to see the USHL smoke the Q teams. The reality is though, we would be very embarassed if we lost to a bunch of kids who won't even make their respective Q teams.
I'd rather much see this game played during the Christmas season.

Yep let the excuses begin. I emailed Oceanic with this concern and their reply pretty much stated that they would use a regular lineup with the possiblity of the 4th line rotating 6 players in each game.(just like any other team does)
Speaking of starting early, I see the two Qteams have a exhibition game slated for August 15.
The Canadians are taking this more seriously than the '72 summit series.
According to Canadians, Americans dont know anything about hockey. If so, why are the teams practising a month in advance for?
the truth of the matter is that several ofthe better players on the Q teams will be at NHL rookie camps wheres none of the USHL players are allowed to participate in NHL camps without losing their NCAA eligibility. That is fact not an excuse. I'm surprised that the Q training camps start so early, usually the OHL camps start the last week in August...A week before NHL rookie camps begin. Will probably be a relatively close game(s) considering these facts, which is want the respective organizations are looking for in pre-season.
