The USHL Hockey Blog has compiled the protected lists for each USHL team.
Also, there was a bit of a surprise today, as Lincoln Stars head coach Steve Johnson resigned. Johnson is a former North Dakota player and will return to Grand Forks for a "business opportunity".

Hmmmm ... I think I need someone to advise me as to my guess about what sort of "business opportunity" (that allows one to stay "close to" hockey) a former head coach (who "steered" elite players to his former school's program) might find himself stepping into?

Johnson has been attempting to get back to ND over the past few years, he applied for head and assistant coaching jobs over the last three years. He even applied for head women's hockey coach. The grind of long middle of the night bus trips every other weekend all winter long became old after 11 years. If you are going to be snarky at least be clever, otherwise you just sound whiny.
There's a fine line to walk between trying to be subtle yet still be understood by the great unwashed prairie masses.
How do the USHL lists work exactly? Specifically, if it says that a player has left for college, is it for sure that he will be joining his college team next year?
