University of Alaska head coach Tavis MacMillan resigned today for a "family opportunity".
This move comes as a major surprise to me. It was a rough season for the Nanooks, but MacMillan looked to be doing a fine job with the program. Now the Nanooks must find a new coach. Alaska's press release mentioned that MacMillan recommended both of his current assistant coaches.
