Boston University jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Michigan State, but the Spartans came back and scored 5 unanswered goals to win 5-1 and advance to the regional final to take on Notre Dame.
I honestly didn't think that the Spartans had a game like that in them. Mazel Tov. Their game against Notre Dame should be interesting. Each team won on home ice against the other earlier this season, and this time, appropriately enough, they'll be playing pretty much in the middle of both schools(East Lansing is 72 miles away, South Bend is 118 miles away). Notre Dame is at the disadvantage of playing an extra period and a half, while State is at the disadvantage of having a late night, and thus, less turnaround time for their next game.
Notre Dame is a team that thrives on errors from their opponents. It didn't sound like State made too many mistakes in their game tonight, and if they play that way tomorrow, they have a great chance to get back to the Frozen Four.
