Notre Dame jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Alabama-Huntsville, and looked to be cruising. UAH had switched their goalie and it looked like a cakewalk for the Irish. But Huntsville came to play.
The Chargers fought back and tied the game at 2. The game went deep into the second overtime before Notre Dame's Ryan Thang won the game with a powerplay goal.
It was certainly a noble effort from the Chargers. The Irish now have to regroup to play the winner of the upcoming BU/MSU game. After playing an extremely long game today, it could be tough for them to come back tomorrow. The Irish were definitely lucky to survive this one.
