Bowling Green picked up a commitment from NTDP U18 forward Brennan Vargas. Vargas was one of the top remaining forwards in the 2007 class. He has also received serious interest from New Hampshire and Minnesota State. Vargas' father, Ernie, played at the University of Wisconsin.
Yale got a commitment from Detroit Cranbrook forward Andrew Miller. This one is interesting because you don't see too many kids commitment straight out of Michigan High School hockey, but Miller was one of the most talented players in the state this year. He led Cranbrook to a Division 3 state title, tallying a hat trick and an assist in the state semifinal, and assisting on both Cranbrook goals in the state final. He was named Michigan's Mr. Hockey, and First Team All-State in Division 3. He is a quick forward with excellent hands. He has the ability to set up teammates nicely and to finish off goals. Miller will play a year or two of junior hockey before joining the Bulldogs.
