Jack Connolly Commits to Duluth

Duluth Marshall senior forward Jack Connolly has committed to Minnesota-Duluth for the 2009 season. Connolly is a small forward, but is an excellent stick-handler and playmaker.

While his college choice is now made, Connolly still isn't entirely sure where he'll be playing next season. He will be trying out for a spot on a USHL team, or will play in the NAHL.

His brother Chris plays for the Fargo-Moorhead Jets of the NAHL, and has also had contact with the Bulldogs, among other schools.

The Bulldogs also added a goalie to replace outgoing senior Josh Johnson. Kenny Reiter of Fairbanks in the NAHL committed to the Bulldogs for next season.

I was very impressed with Connolly these last 3 state tourneys he has played in.....but dont you guys think Chris is D1 material? He has been tearing up the NAHL. I just dont see Jack being as good or better than Chris, If I were UMD, i would sign Chris immediately

Chris will end up playing D1 hockey either next year or the year after.

Me thinks they'll both end up at UMD, but I'd take Jack over Chris in a heartbeat.

Jack has two years before he goes to UMD - i think he has time to "improve" up to Chris' standards...

If you watch Chris and Jack play, they have very different styles, but both are top notch players. Both Connolly boys should be playing for UMD. What a great team they'd make!
