Normally my colleague Damien Goddard handles this type of thing, but I don't think I can pass it up.
Two Nebraska-Omaha hockey players, Adam Bartholomay and Bobby Henderson were arrested for being drunk in a Council Bluffs, Iowa Casino. Being drunk in a casino isn't exactly a rare phenomenon, so what they did to end up in the back of a police car after the police were called was probably pretty spectacular.
From the details that are known, Henderson didn't do much to help his cause. According to the police report:
"When officers confronted Henderson, he told police, "I am a hockey player. I'll get out of this.""He also told the officers that he was a criminal justice major, but shockingly, that didn't seem to get him anywhere.
"Inside the police car, Henderson began to head butt the cage and yell "I play for the Mavs. You can't (expletive) with me.""You've got to love a guy that references his own team like that. Herb Brooks would be so proud.
Both players are suspended for the rest of the season. For Henderson, that will exhaust his eligiblity. Bartholomay will still have two years of eligibility left, but UNO coach Mike Kemp said he is unsure of what Bartholomay will do.

Maybe if there werent like two other big hockey teams in town they may have had better luck.
Its nice to see that at least one coach in the NCAA has the balls to discipline his players for these types of actions
Hey, Omaha ain't Minnie baby!!!
No spoiled brats there!
Why sully the good name of Herb Brooks in this story? You really are too clever by half.
"Hey, Omaha ain't Minnie baby!!!

Yeah that's why all the Minnie players got busted at Barney's!!
uno hockey has committed to a couple guys for next year that will fit right in by the sounds of it!
my point exactly.......Barney's and no discipline!
Funny, there was other bar related stuff this past summer in Omaha, but unreported. You guys should get your facts straight before claiming the coach "has the balls to discipline". This one just hit the media.
Nice to see the anti-Gopher trolls out again. I am sure Chris has been lonely without you guys. Maybe you should nominate the UNO coach for sainthood after Red is beatified, of course.
What about the two other players that were there, total of four players but only two with suspensions!
