All Sioux, All the Time

Robbie Bina's fluke goal on Jeff Frazee was the most popular video on YouTube. 100,000 people watched the video on YouTube, and it also made an appearance on Around the Horn, so like, 100,007 people watched it.

CSTV's Dave Starman apparently likes the Sioux. In this week's CSTV Hobey Poll, he voted Jonathan Toews 3rd, and Robbie Bina 4th.

WDAZ TV of Grand Forks reported that North Dakota hockey players Jonathan Toews and T.J. Oshie were both charged with underage drinking at a Grand Forks establishment last weekend. This will inevitably lead to comparisons to the Blarney's drinking scandal at Minnesota last year. I checked, and I said a two-game suspension would be fair in that situation, though if Dave Hakstol chose not to have either miss a game like Don Lucia did, I wouldn't have a problem with that either.

Finally, North Dakota recruit Mike Cichy has indeed left the NTDP program. I just emailed Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald, and he confirmed it, though he wasn't entirely convinced that he was going to the QMJHL. More should be known by the end of the day.

Chris,

Do you know for a fact that Coach Lucia did nothing regarding the Blarney's incident? Or is that your conclusion based upon your history of making things up when you aren't there?

Did I say "did nothing" or did I say "chose not to have either miss a game like Don Lucia did"

Where is the moral outrage? Where is the wailing and gnashing of teeth?

Obviously the refs are to blame. They had a lot of spare cash from being in Minnesota's pocket and they bought a round for the house entrapping the Sioux players in a WCHA sting. I wouldn't surprised if these two halo-owners were forced to drink.

What a great series to watch. Don Lucia was totally outcoached. And to add to his wisdom, he said on the radio that he EXPECTED to go 3-3 the past 6 games. So he said going 2-4 is only one game off so he did not feel to bad. What a crock. I'm sure the Gopher fans had higher expectations. Lucia is one spinmaster trying to justify his lousy coaching.

Would lousy coaching be someone who left the bench during a game earlier this year because his team was playing poorly? Teaching the kids how to quit?

what are you refering to?????
Lucia???

Hakstol left the bench during the game in the Maine series and then proceeded to bad-mouth the Maine player that lit up the Sioux that weekend on the radio after the game. Since this was not a Gopher coach, the behavior was obviously the epitome of what passes for class in North Dakota.

pretty sure the maine player was bad mouthed because of his dirty hit on toews
