Notre Dame vs. Miami

The top two teams in the CCHA will meet this weekend for their only regular season meetings of the season. Notre Dame will host Miami this weekend at the Joyce Center.

The Irish lead Miami in the CCHA standings with by a single point, though the Irish still have two games in hand on the Redhawks. This will be a big weekend for the Irish. They have the opportunity to basically clinch their first CCHA regular season title with a sweep, and though Miami doesn't carry the big name of a Big Ten school, it is a big opportunity for Notre Dame to capture the attention of the university, and make a case for a new arean, which they desperately need.

It should also be an interesting match-up between Miami's dynamic Hobey Baker candidate, Nathan Davis, and Notre Dame's Hobey Baker candidate, goalie David Brown.

Here are Notre Dame's game notes for this weekend.

I'm hoping Notre Dame hockey gets a new arena soon enough. I was there on New Year's Eve, and it's pathetic that that the players and fans have to share a common area. Also, having met some of ND's fans, they're a smart and classy bunch...
