Early Departures

Michigan forward Jason Bailey has left Michigan to sign with the Ottawa 67's of the OHL. It's been a tough season for Bailey and there were rumors about this for quite some time. Best of luck to Bailey in the future.

Northern Michigan recruit Chris Berenguer was supposed to start playing for the Wildcats this fall, but academic problems forced him to play the first half of this season in the USHL again. Unfortunately, Berenguer was reportedly unable to get those academic problems cleared up, and will instead be heading to D-III Hamline University in Minnesota.

I wonder if my history paper's grade should retroactively go down, since apparently one of my interviewees was lying to me.

Chris Berenguer didn't play in the USHL again this year. He helped coach the Sioux Falls Stampede defense but did not play.

He was a "coach" because he was aged out of Juniors

I'd be curious to see the breakdown of players that leave college early as to where they are from. It seems that kids from Minnesota tend to look to the college route and stay in college as opposed to heading to the Canadian Juniors or leaving early for the Canadian Juniors. The NHL and minor leagues affiliates being an exception for leaving early. I don't know if this is true thats why I'm asking.
