Stepan Commits to Wisconsin

Shattuck-St. Mary's forward Derek Stepan committed to Wisconsin last week. Stepan is in the 11th grade, so he will either join the Badgers in 2008-2009, or play an extra year of juniors before joining the Badgers.

Stepan played for Hastings High School in Minnesota last year with Minnesota State's Jerad Stewart, before moving on to Shattuck this year. He's been playing on a line with another Wisconsin commit, Brock Montpetit. According to Todd Milewski of the Capital Times, Stepan visited Wisconsin with Montpetit during their series against Denver two weeks ago.

Stepan comes from good hockey bloodlines. His father Brad was a 5th round NHL draft selection of the New York Rangers in 1985.

Chris any news on Nash or Gregoire, and maybe why Gregoire has only played in 4 game

People are saying that Gregoire has a "lower body injury" of some sort.

Gregoire had surgery on his foot, thus why he has only played a handful of games.

rumor has it that Stepan's father Brad played on the same high school team as Tom Saggisor is this true?

Brad was an amazing player. Although I think Derek is giving him a run for his money.
