Brief Linkorama

College Hockey News' Dane DeKrey wrote a very nice feautre on Kyle Okposo. We're a good 10 games into the season, and I think this is a first time I've seen someone mention that he is the first African-American to play hockey for the Gophers. I think it's refreshing that that hasn't been a big story, and that he's been allowed to be Kyle Okposo: hockey player, and not Kyle Okposo: African-American hockey player.

Denver is CHN's Team of the Week, though CHN's Blog points out that that might be a curse.

INCH Hobey Tracker is up. Still no mention of Travis Morin in the Hidden Hobey section. Yes, I am planning on complaining every week until he gets a mention.

Matt Zaba is bravely holding the line as the only thing seperating Colorado College from the Apocalypse, or something like that.

Let's Go DU has his own wacky take on the story about Wisconsin's equipment manager. Perhaps faulty intelligence is why goalie Brian Elliott overplayed the puck on DU's overtime winner. Seriously, after watching the video, where was he sliding? There is nobody on that other side of the net.

i think that okposo's situation proves that people arent racist anymore. just dont bring him to UND, because of all the racism here...he simply wouldnt make it out alive...(yes this is a joke)

Nice article on Kyle Okposo and as a Gopher fan, couldn't be more proud and fortunate to be able to watch him every weekend. On a sidenote, nice to see Tyler Hirsch being recognized in the Hobey Watcher. One comment....just how old is Michel Leveille?!!! I guess Gopher fans are more used to the fresh faced youthful looking players. No offense to his looks, he just looks so much more "mature" than the other players mentioned - very talented player though and very deserving of the consideration.

Will Okposo be a Gopher for one year or two....any thoughts?

The WCHA will see a lot of kids go early again after this year.....

Wasn't Steve Debus 26 years old when he played for the gophers. Hmmmm.

How long will Okposo be a Gopher?

Depends, he might want to get started right away so he can earn that 15 year contract from Garth Snow, the Islanders' GM. :D

Leveille is the oldest player in college hockey by 11 days, over Jaymie Harrington of Canisius. He's 25 years and 7 months.

Minnesota's Jim O'Brien is the youngest by 25 days, over Alaska's Dion Knelsen.

Leveille looks even older in his picture because of the glasses he's wearing. He looks a little younger without them.
