The USHL held their Futures Draft today. The draft is for players younger than 18 who will be placed on a team's protected list until they're 18 years old. It's not terribly meaningful since some of these kids won't play in the USHL, and some won't end up with the team that drafted them, but it's still interesting to see some of the names picked.
Ohio had the first pick and they picked Jimmy Hayes, presumably banking on the fact that he won't be able to play for the NTDP next year, but won't be able to start college until 2008.
