Earlier this week, I wrote about Minnesota coach Don Lucia and the changes he is trying to make this year after what happened to Minnesota last season.
Dean Spiros had an article along the same lines as mine today in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Spiros focused on Minnesota's new commitment to practice. It's a good article and very informative.
The article also reveals that the reason Kellen Briggs suspension was that he took over $100 worth of free food and drinks.

yeah, briggs would do that...just kidding i dont know him. i have to say i really respect what lucia is doing though.
Now if Briggs could only figure out how to steal a game or two.
Thats a nice article, good for Lucia.
St Lucy is just such a disciplinarian. A year later if your bar tab is not paid, something might hapeen to you. I thought the "free" food and drinks were traded for "free" tickets to games for the bar owner and staff.
I praised Lucia on the article the other night, but isn't it a bit alarming that he's this far into his career and he's finally taking a stand on discipline??
I'm a big Sioux fan and I must admit that UND does not recruit a player that would take $100 in free food/beverage.....instead, we recruit a guy that knows how to print his own money :-)

Did you even read the article? It sounds like this is the first time it got this extreme with his players. No where does it say it's the first time he's used discipline.
So is Uncle Bucks Sonmore covering the Blarney's tab this season.
